At Skirtellas, we believe style and responsibility can—and should—coexist. This page outlines our commitments to lower environmental impact, support fair labor, and design products that last longer and live fuller lives in your wardrobe.

1) Materials & Design

We prioritize materials that balance durability, comfort, and lower impact. Our design team aims to create timeless silhouettes that reduce trend churn and increase wear-per-garment.

What we’re using now

  • Preferred fibers (growing share): recycled polyester, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose, organic cotton.
  • Responsible trims: nickel-free hardware where feasible; reduced plastic findings.
  • Fabric testing: pilling, colorfastness, and seam strength to improve longevity.

What we’re phasing out

  • Conventional virgin polyester in selected core styles (roadmap below).
  • Non-recyclable blends where feasible alternatives exist.
  • Unnecessary tags and plastic attachments.

We avoid making unverified environmental claims. Where certifications apply, they will be listed on the product page.

2) Supply Chain & Labor

Ethical manufacturing is non-negotiable. We work with suppliers who share our values and commit to fair, safe, and respectful workplaces.

  • Audits & Onboarding: New factories are vetted for labor practices, safety, and environmental controls.
  • Traceability: We are mapping Tier 1 (cut-and-sew) partners and progressively increasing upstream visibility.
  • No forced or child labor: Zero tolerance policy aligned with international standards.
  • Grievance channels: Anonymous reporting options encouraged via our partners.

3) Packaging & Logistics

  • Right-sized packaging: Cartons and mailers matched to product dimensions to reduce air freight volume.
  • Paper first: Increasing recycled-content paper mailers; minimizing virgin plastics where feasible.
  • Fewer inserts: Digital care guides replace paper where possible.
  • Carrier selection: Preference for carriers offering carbon-aware shipping options where available.

4) Climate & Emissions

We are working to understand and reduce emissions across our operations and supply chain.

  • Measurement: Building a baseline for Scope 1–3 using industry factors and supplier data as available.
  • Reduction first: Material choices, efficient cutting, consolidated shipments, and durable designs.
  • Credible claims: We focus on measurable reductions and avoid ambiguous “carbon neutral” statements without evidence.

5) Circularity: Care, Repair & Returns

  • Care guides: Washing colder, line drying, and garment storage tips to extend life.
  • Repairs: Basic repair guides; where possible, spare buttons and extra thread in select styles.
  • Quality-first returns: Returned items are inspected; reconditioned for sale when safe and compliant.
  • End-of-life: We provide fabric composition details to support local recycling options where available.

6) Standards, Compliance & Disclosures

We align our program with recognized frameworks and legal requirements. We do not list certifications unless they apply to specific products and have been verified.

  • Product-level claims: Certifications (e.g., GRS, OEKO-TEX®) will be displayed on the relevant product pages only when applicable.
  • Regulatory: We monitor relevant product safety, labeling, and privacy laws in our markets.
  • Marketing integrity: Clear, specific, and evidence-based sustainability statements.

7) Annual Progress & Roadmap

Our targets

  • Increase share of preferred fibers to [7%] by [203].
  • Eliminate unnecessary plastic packaging in e-commerce shipments by [2025].
  • Publish Tier 1 factory list by [2025].

Recent highlights

  • Introduced recycled-content mailers in key markets.
  • Expanded size-inclusive patterns with fit testing feedback loops.
  • Reduced paper inserts by consolidating care info into digital guides.

We will update this section annually with quantified progress and next steps.

8) Supplier Code of Conduct (Summary)

  • Compliance with all applicable labor, wage, health, and safety laws.
  • Prohibition of forced, bonded, or child labor; non-discrimination and freedom of association.
  • Safe facilities, responsible chemical management, and waste handling.
  • Transparent sub-contracting only with prior approval and equivalent standards.
